On only my second year of joining the phenomenal community of the Black Rock City, I wanted to find a way to give back to the community and delve further into its culture. The DogFish was born from the remains of a 1979 van. Seating only a total of 8 people at the time, I was thrilled to find that having this mutant vessel allowed me to share stories with more people as we gifted travelers with various beverages. From there the DogFish grew, every year we were able to seat more travelers and every year we made more lifelong friends.
Now seating over 25 people the DogFish has implanted itself as a Burning Man staple.
Throughout the years Camp DogFish has been lucky enough to have been a part of providing beverages and libations to various Deep Playa parties and BM weddings as well as DMV Art Tours and Kidsville tours. The DogFish has also been part of the fleet of art installation support vehicles, and airport transportation.
We’ve had a wonderful team working on this project throughout the years and hope that all who decide to hop on board care as much about her and the Burning Man culture as we do. Most of all, we hope that they understand that the DogFish is not a playa toy, it is a tool to help magnify the entire Burning Man experience with radical gifting and endless good will.
